Hp rating on EVO VIII did MITSUBISHI lie again
HKS Dynochart of USDM Evo 8 | Feb 18, 2003 11:08 PM
I just received a dyno chart from an HKS reseller. It was sent to him from HKS. It's too big to attach so i'll just give you the numbers.
Max Power=240.4 Max Torque=253.6
which means it should be pushing close to 300hp right. Did mits lie again about the HP reading on the EVO they have in the past why not now!
Mitsubishi under rated the hp figures. I believe the drivetrain loss on the Evo VII was around 24%. 240 to the wheels, given 24% transmission loss (on Evo 6 and 7) equates to 302.6 bhp at the crank / flywheel. That sounds about right, when you think about it for EVO when it's stock. Yes we are talking about our evo viii in the states. I sure hope MITS has underrated our horsepower. It would be quite the usual for MITSUBISHI to lie on the Evo line.

Heres that SUPEREVO vid
While waiting you can look at some 2002 SUPEREVO movies ...
0-250kph on standard gasoline and 2,0bar boost (at race I use 107octane fuel and 2,4bar boost) ... What you see in this movie is this guy running 0-250kph with the setup used everyday when going to and from work:
