Smile Hi, I'm new..

Hey everyone.. just wanted to post a Hello. I'm new to the board, but I've just been lurking hehe. Have to say that this forum is great. You guys are histerical, your posts have kept me laughing and very entertained at work Everyone seems to be pretty knowledgable. I'm very interested in the topics, but have no experience with working on cars. I've had a bunch of questions answered already. A little about my car, I have a 00 Silver protege, 5 speed. My 1st Mazda, I love it. I havent made any modifications for 2 reasons, 1- I dont know where to start and 2- I have no clue what I am doing, blah. I hate feeling like such a girl . Anyways, hoping you guys and girls will welcome this lurker

Welcome on board (I'll admit, I already used that one before)

Where exactly do you work? I'd kill to have access to this forum at my work, but the movie business leaves no time for this. Actually I'm unemployed right now, as my theatre just closed, and I don't want to transfer to any others.....

But back to you, glad to hear that you like your pro. Silver's a very nice colour, wish mine was silver, but instead they could only give me black. If you had to change/upgrade one thing on your car what would you like to do?

Makaveli,

I'm a dispatcher for a cable tv company, so I sit in front on a computer all day with free internet hehe At night is quiet so I get to play around. Thats really the only fun. What kinda movie business are you in?
As far as my car goes, I'd like to add some performance mods, nothing major though. I'd like to have a lil more go than the 1.6 has. I was looking at prices for intakes and stuff to get an idea. Not sure how prices go. And tires/rims. Maybe some fun accessories like the rear light covers. I dont want to make it look rediculous or anything just make it look sharp. I like the pro in black, that was my 1st but they had the silver in a manual so I grabbed it hehe. I dont find many Mazda fans around.. Its all the usually Honda's... or VW's, but they're a fav of mine, just couldnt afford one. Thanks for the replies! See ya around the board!

Can you find the K&N filter at a typical auto parts store or is that something that would need to be ordered?

go to www.knfilters.com, they have both online distributors and authorized retailers listed. I was gonna order one from my local Pep Boys, but they quoted over $50 because they have to special order it, so I ordered it online for $36 instead.

well I called my local Pep Boys, gave my car's year/make/model, and the lady searched their inventory and said they don't have the one for my car in stock, and special order would cost $52. So I said nevermind, I'll get it somewhere else then...

perhaps they do have one that would fit my 00 ES, but I'm too lazy to go find it myself at the store

ah.... the power of online shopping
