Well, hell, if this is turning into a "dream car" thread...

1960 MGA Twincam (red, of course)
1965 Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint GTA
1970-72 Chevelle convertible (needn't be SS, but must be V8)
1981-85 Audi Quattro (the 5cyl turbo SWB coupe)
1969-75 Datsun Z

My dad has a early 70's 240Z, and he LOVED it. To this day, I think it is still his favorite car (that he owned). As for the MGA, all I have to say is My favorite car since I was been 7 years old has been a 1970 Split bumpered B. They are SO much fun, and great restoration cars.

Yea, you can, but there is really no point.... Plus even the high HP cars go to single-turbo for maximum power... Supra, RX7, etc.

What would be the benifits of making a twin turbo 2.2 liter 4 banger ? if it can be done it seems like a huge waste of money

well if ur talkin bout lag there is always ways to reduce like heat shields sequintial bov's better down pipes and top of the line intercoolers so twin turbos arent a problem if u know wut to do

Twin turbos reduce turbo lag. The Porsche 911 turbo uses a smaller turbo during lower rpms and before the larger one is initiated. The smaller turbo spools up more quickly and lag is less noticable. This creates less lag perception between when the large turbo itself is initited and deactivated.

You should have seen the lineup of cars outside my dad's tennis club when I was a kid. 2 MGBs (1 chrome bumper, 1 black), a TR3, a Spitfire, a 260Z, a Porsche 914, and a Jag E-type coupe. Oh, and Dad's TR4, and the VW Scirocco that would eventially become my first car...

Dad's car in college was a 61 MGA MkII (pushrod, not twincam) and he says he still misses it...

Umm... all I have to say to that is... actualy, there are no words for that... I love all of those cars. ALL of them. I can just picture it now... My dad's main car through college was his Datsun, but he also had that 70 Split bumpered B I was talkin about. Apparently they aren't that bad in the snow. I really hope I can own any one of those cars one day... maybe minus the Scirocco (no offense, but that wouldn't be my choice of car to fool around with and have as a toy). I love the European Sports cars most of all.

isn't this almost liek the same sequential setup the rx-7 uses

i always thought the rx-7 worked like this (well turbos)

the smaller turbo would spool up really quickly, therefore reducing turbo lag.... and then when the bigger turbo is about to start up, the smaller turbo would dump all its boost into the larger one to get that turbo spinning fast really quickly..... therefore u don't notice any lag while it swicthes from the first to second turbo..... iunno ... thas how i always thought the RX-7s sequential turbo setup worked....

well i already posted what car i would buy next ... n you all know it would be an RX-7 .... FC or FD

NOW WE'Z TALKIN!!!

excellent choices!

funkdaddy, i ride streetbikes, but i'd love to play in the dirt. for now that is up to my mountian bike. another reason to get the ranger... i can carry my toys and not get the insides dirty!

my love for the boxy 87-94 ford mustangs has not wained and neither has it for the late 60 early70's chevy a-cars and the nova (the only cool x-car... well ok, the camero was to wasn't it...). the shoebox is my dream car with a 383 stroker...

my 86 toyota ae86 rolla was a fun car, hope to get another one someday, but a really cool car is the mazda 323, what is it... the glx? it's 4wd and really quick! that would be a cool *** project car!
