Twin turbos reduce turbo lag. The Porsche 911 turbo uses a smaller turbo during lower rpms and before the larger one is initiated. The smaller turbo spools up more quickly and lag is less noticable. This creates less lag perception between when the large turbo itself is initited and deactivated.

Dad's car in college was a 61 MGA MkII (pushrod, not twincam) and he says he still misses it...

isn't this almost liek the same sequential setup the rx-7 uses
i always thought the rx-7 worked like this (well turbos)
the smaller turbo would spool up really quickly, therefore reducing turbo lag.... and then when the bigger turbo is about to start up, the smaller turbo would dump all its boost into the larger one to get that turbo spinning fast really quickly..... therefore u don't notice any lag while it swicthes from the first to second turbo..... iunno ... thas how i always thought the RX-7s sequential turbo setup worked....
well i already posted what car i would buy next ... n you all know it would be an RX-7 .... FC or FD

funkdaddy, i ride streetbikes, but i'd love to play in the dirt. for now that is up to my mountian bike. another reason to get the ranger... i can carry my toys and not get the insides dirty!
my love for the boxy 87-94 ford mustangs has not wained and neither has it for the late 60 early70's chevy a-cars and the nova (the only cool x-car... well ok, the camero was to wasn't it...). the shoebox is my dream car with a 383 stroker...
my 86 toyota ae86 rolla was a fun car, hope to get another one someday, but a really cool car is the mazda 323, what is it... the glx? it's 4wd and really quick! that would be a cool *** project car!
