Heads up about Rev It Up.

Just letting you all know (if you didn't already) that in the contest, you are responsible for any damage that would happen to the car. Understandable but some people may not realize this.

So you're saying no "Bullitt" re-enactments. Damn.

Did you end up owing them money or something?

it's an autocross....what could go wrong?
A pretty major member of CEG rolled his SVT at one of the national meet autox's That's what's got me concerned about.

Did you end up owing them money or something?
No not yet (knock on wood), a friend of mine was concerned about the laibility issues and contacted Rev it up people. He most likely won't race and very possibly won't even come to the meet because of the liability issues. (evidently even if you're just standing around and an errant autox'er comes and hits ya Rev it up isn't responsible) I understand that Rev it up couldn't possibly afford to insure a meet like this (I think anyway). I'm not as cautious as my friend so I'm still coming (though I have a few reservations about the autox)

the likelyhood of a rev it up mazda6 getting out of control is probably the same as getting bitten in the *** by a rabid racoon.

will you stay in the house because there are rabid racoons out in the world?

You always have a way to say things so delicately, Hank.

CEG= Contour enthuisast group, ie a contour SVT not a focus. (quite a bit more stable btw) No I'm not afraid of the damn car, I quite look forward to doign the AutoX. I'm just letting everyone know that the meet isn't so risk free as I was led to beleive and just thought I'd let everyone know some possible risks.

the likelyhood of a rev it up mazda6 getting out of control is probably the same as getting bitten in the *** by a rabid racoon.
Yeah I know but I think they're more worried about the crazies trying to pull a gone in 60 seconds thing.

Anyways my point isn't to scare everyone it's just to inform protegeclub about an issue that I found out about.

J/k...

The only real accident I've seen in 7 years of autox was a GTI that did a barrel roll at a local event..... stock VW springs, and r-compounds

oh that's below the belt!

the worst autox accident I've seen is a n00b with a Porsche going off-course and T-boning a BMW M5 that was just coming out of the gate!

yes people here play with expensive toys
