Goodbye

Goodbye
Well, it happened. Our Protege5 was repossessed today around 6pm. And when we least expected it, too.
This is going to leave us with a huge challenge. We now have only one car, a 1993 Nissan 240sx, which has over 130,000 miles, needs an engine overhaul, the brakes are going out, the transmission is starting to go out, the clutch could go out at any seconds, and a list of other things. This is going to be really hard...my mother working across town, me going to school and trying to find a job, and my father starting his new job as a prison guard. We'd have to take my mom to work, but it is 20 miles each direction and we don't have the money for all that gas. So, either she's going to have to quit her job, which would put us back even further, as she is our main income source right now. I'd have to walk to and from school (which isn't a problem), my dad couldn't go to work because there are no buses around here and no one he knows works the same shift. This also means that I can't get a job because I wouldn't have a ride. Oh man, is this going to be fun (NOT!).
We've already borrowed thousands or dollars from our friends, church, family, etc.
I think the only we could manage is if we got a lot of money or a car was given to us or something. Fat chance.....
If anyone has any suggestions, plese feel free to poste them or email them to me at email removed by TheMAN

Can't say I really know what you are going through, but it must be really hard. Sorry to hear about the situation...I'm sure you will be able to find a job though. I've had a steady job for 3 years, since I was 14. Now though make sure you at least finish up school, or it will just get worse! Best of luck to you and your family. Stay strong.

Sorry for you unfortunate circumstances. NOT to sound harse, but maybe you should give up your internet? I read in the other post that your water was shut off. If my gas, water, or electric bill was about to be shutoff, you better believe my luxury bills (cable, internet, etc.) will be shut off first.
As far as a car goes, you could contact a local charity organization that recieves donated cars and fixes them. My wife and I donated her old car a year or so ago. These organizations fix they car, and give it to a needy family.
Are you still in high school? If so, maybe you could talk to a counselor and he/she could help you find a job. A good place to find work is a temp agency.
Ive never been in your situation before (hope I never will be), so thats all the help I can give. Good luck dood...

This is just an idea...news paper classifieds is another way to
find a job too which could cost much less.
hope you get out of that cram fast. stay strong and keep
your focus. finish up school, that's one of the best investments
you will ever do for yourself and family.
not all companies ask about your school education level, but
its the creditors that look at it for your future finances, etc.

Just found out today....we have two options on the car. We can either pay $1,000 (3 payments) plus about $150 to get the car back. Or, we can not pay anything, and they'll auction the car off. And the difference of what they auction it for and what we owe them, we'd have to pay (we owe about $16,000 on it, so if they sold it for $14,000, we'd owe them $2,000).
My mom's paycheck came today, but it is all used up. So basically, we have nothing to live off of for the next two weeks until her next one comes.

I'm really, really sorry to hear this. Though I may not know what you're going through, I feel your pain.
I wish that their was a way I could help...
I know God doesn't cause these things, but if there is a God, why does he allow it?
I mean, we pray and pray....nevermind

I don't wanna sound like a dick or anything here...but how did you guys decide to buy a brand new Protege5? If I was having financial difficulty I would surely buy the cheapest running car I could get. Maybe the trouble was unforeseen? I don't know, but it just got me wondering...

At the time, we were financially stable, and buying a new car wouldn't be any problem. But then my dad started having these blindness and migraine spells at night from staring at a computer for 8 hours.
