Goodbye

it's sad that i leave on these terms. i've been here since the beginning and have been cool with everyone and always tried to contribute.
however, it would seem my input is no longer important as mr moderator prime has gone out of his way to point out the stupidity of my suggestions.

all i wanted was to see what i thought to be my internet "home" forum, flourish again featuring a tasteful calendar w/the girls of proclub (w/their rides), but i guess this "high-school" idea (pointed out in two separate threads) is stupid.

for those of u who do know me, whether back in the beginning or since, it's been fun. i enjoyed nearly every login session into proclub until now.

thank u mr prime for making my return to proclub an un-welcomed one and for not showing any courtesy toward my ideas.
i find it unfortunate that of the few active ppl here the one giving me heat is a moderator.

Sorry to see you leave. I remeber seeing you post way back when I first registered. I am a moderator myself, and people we are losing a valuable resource here. Hawaiin is a "GOD of car audio". I'll make one request you remain, and hopefully we can resolve your issues. Please read my response to your thread about the calendar. If you do leave us again, good luck to you dude.

I do have to agree with people that this has gotten a little bit out of hand. No matter how much knowledge you think you have, there will always be one more piece you might find, or somebody might prove you wrong on another. I have seen several instances where comments were shrugged off as idiotic, because the person had believed they knew everything.

I was watching of all things.. Flex's Ride on Spike channel, and they were interviewing Carroll Shelby. He made one of the best statements I have heard in a while about this subject... he said something like this...

"The generation around today seems to be way more inventive or innovative than previous generations past. The need for aftermarket parts is soaring, and they come up with ideas and build the parts themselves from scratch because they can't afford to have somebody else do it for them. They squeeze several hundred more horespower out of engines than once prior was believed to be possible."

The truth is, he's right. If I had told my dad back in the 70's that there would be 4 cylinder Hondas and the like runnin around in the 8 second range for the quarter, he'd have laughed at me and called me nuts. Everyday something new is created that was never thought before possible that squeezes that little extra bit out.

To me the idea is, that when it comes to this forum, it is intended for people to post their ideas about whatever they like as long as it is in the realms of being mature. I don't believe this forum exists just for "good deals" etc. Its a great addition to the idea, but it is not the primary reason that it should exist. No question is stupid, and certainly neither is a reasonable suggestion.

I do not think that the idea of a calendar is immature whatsoever.

I do however think that the "I am God" type of moderator idea is a little bit extreme. I am new here, and obviously don't have much respect because I most likely have not earned it, but I certainly would not stick around with a forum where half the threads have useless ego battles in them either.

My two cents.... probably in Canadian... <shrugs>

Sorry to hear of your un-welcomed returned. I do remember you from back in the day. I'm unaware of your ideas being shot down. I'm sure there's more to it, but you shouldn't let that run you off.

Frustration understood and felt over here as well. No sense in me re-stating the obvious. I think many in here have laid it out quite nicely. I do like the idea of a less-noisy, more info forum, but that's just really the kind of thing that can't really come about when enforced by the mod who thinks he's god. Notsure if you're already on clubprotege or protege5.com as well but those are 2 very worthwhile "homes" especially the audio sections.

Ha! Good one!

I can't say it any better that you did, Prote-J. This to me is my home forum--it's the most informative, least chatty and by far the most 'intellectual" (for lack of a better term, I suppose) than any of the other forums I have joined or visited.

I have a great deal of respect for the knowledge members have and share on this forum, including Roddimus.

I really hope ALL the mods on this forum choose not to take themselves too seriously, it would be really f***ed up if we start losing our best members because of this.

Well I only speak for myself...ALL ideas are welcome here....Not sure why Rod went off on this guy, maybe he is having a bad time...he's on hiatus right now so I'm not sure. I am a moderator here, and lets explain quickly the moderators job. #1 Priority is to help others with the benefit of our knowledge. #2 Would be to promote a fun and healthy enviroment to discuss the 323/Protege/Mazda 3..#3 would be to maintain the board so it's easy to navigate, moving posts to appropriate sections, and remove offensive posts and the people who create them.....I hope when Rod gets back we can resolve this problem. 1hawaiian is a wealth of audio knowledge and i was happy to see him return. I hope this small problem hasn't already caused us to lose a valuable member

I haven't commented on this whole ordeal yet, but I can somewhat see both sides of the argument. I saw the posts before Rod ever replied to any of them, and I immediately thought to myself, "wow, that was mature! ". The original posts sounded like a high school kid hoping to see some free **** or something. There was no real explanation or logic behind them, it was just "hey, lets get some chicks in here!", this coming from a guy whose signature and member text read "punani lover." Not exactly a posterchild for maturity....

I will admit that Rod was a bit harsh on him, although we get along pretty well. Onehawaiian then explained himself a little more, and the idea doesn't sound quite so pathetic anymore, although I'm not sure how feasible it would be. Rod's going through a bit of a hardship right now, and maybe he just overreacted a bit, or maybe not, I can't speak for him.

All I can really say is, I greatly prefer the people on this forum over most of the others, as well as the layout and general maturity level. I would love to see this site as busy as it was when I first joined a year and a half ago, but not at the expense of it being full of questionable crap. I can hardly browse the other forums at work, it seems like every other person's avatar or sig is either a girl in a thong, girls kissing, or a girl's **** shaking. Don't get me wrong, I love all those things , but they have there own little (well..) place on the web.

I've really only got one other thing to say.....

Can't we all just get along?!

Hmmm. I thought the idea was somewhat decent. Maybe not Protege's with their "hottie" owners though. I think that voting for the top 12 proteges in the forum would be more appropriate.
Alltogether I don't think that onehawiian's idea was immature, just a lil hormone enhanced. But, who am I to say whats mature or not......I have a collection of toy robots for cryin' out loud.

Hey toy collecting can be very lucrative. My relatives do it and it does them pretty well, and its a good hobby.

Though, puttin your face and the front end of your car onto a Transformer might be a little bit much.

HEHE

Well, I'm not really collecting them. I've had them since 1984 and they're worth loot now. Just part of my office decor now.

As for my sig, MY face is alot uglier. An I just thought it was more original than some of the other sigs I've seen. Besides who wouldn't want to have their car turn into a 20ft tall walking death machine?
