A Bone to Pick with 99.9% of you

"There is no aftermarket for the Protege"

"We want performance parts"

"Why does no one make anything for our cars?"

I'll tell you the answer to this in simple terms. 99.9% of you whine about wanting aftermarket for your cars, but when the time comes to give up the cash for it, you become little bitches and whine about the price.

I'm sick of people saying this crap and then not buying it when something comes out. Take a look at our For Sale section. Currently you have a Turbo Kit, High Compression pistons, Cam Gears, Tein Coilovers, a header, shifter bushings, and that is the tip of the iceburg. Tell me one thing, why isn't this selling?

Vendors come in and look at this crap to see the need for Protege aftermarket and they see no one spending money. No Money = No Profit = No Product

-------------------------------

"Why does my car shake when it hits a bump?"

"My car gets hot when its out in the sun"

My god some of you complain about the stupidest ****. How many times have a read a post about someone complaining about problems that are obvious.

--------------------------------

"Why does my car blow up when I put a 75shot of N20 on it with no fuel mods?"

"Why did my shift fork break when I shifted as hard as I beat my dick?"

"Why doesn't Mazda recall all Proteges because I have a problem?"

"Why won't Mazda fix my engine when I fucked it up?"

Self explanatory.

Maybe I'm the only one that feels this way, but the majority of you need to ******* get a clue about your cars. Ban me, **** me in the ***, do what you want. Although there are some I respect, and those of you I most likely already talk to on a personal level, this place has become basically "intake chat"

I agree. To a point.

The real problem is not that people complain, but that they do nothing BUT complain. That is, if a problem such as the windows are squeaky (see the 3rd gen forum), people aren't looking for a solution, they're looking to blame Mazda! That's the real kicker! I mean, for $20,000, what do people expect, a frickin' bimmer?

Honestly, instead of b!tching and complaining about how Mazda screwed up this, Mazda screwed up that, deal with the fact that things in this world aren't perfect. Afterwards, get off up yer @ss and figure out a solution (window squeaky, lubricate... seems pretty obvious to me... )

Worse, the attitudes presented in this forum represent a general shift in attitude of society at large. An attitude of: "I deserve everything handed to me on a silver platter." People b%tched and moaned about how high prices were for years and years. Lo and behold, what did we get? Wal-mart. Now the quality isn't good enough? Well, surprise, surprise! When you buy cheap, quality suffers... Imagine that!

I'm done now...

99.9% Accurate!!

Right on man.. i'm glad someone had the nerve to mention this..

How many damn times will the 'will <insert mod here> void my warranty?' question be asked?? among others..

you don't even need to do a search it happens so often... that question, and other common sense, self answering ones get asked practically every other day and are almost ALWAYS on the first page of any given area.

too bad the board can't have a 'smart filter' that goes through your new thread post and if it smells like a repeat, it reaches through your monitor and beats you over the head with the search button...

Agreed... especially the intake part.

Getting a bit repeditive lately. I find I used to be on every day, now maybe once a week. People need to work on their cars, not complain. When everyone was complaining last year about the license plate rattle, I went out and got industrial strength double sided tape. end of problem.

Things change.

That's 100% true, not 99.9.
What can you do? Nothing!
"Lack of aftermarket" usually means that there's no $100 bolt- ons which add extra 50 hp...
We are doomed to be stuck in intake discussions forever.

I would like to add a supplementary annoyance to your list.

"Which color is the best for the P5"
"Which wheels should I buy"

Those are the stupidest and most useless threads out there. The person is going to buy whatever they want anyhow and if they arent than they need to get a backbone.

I am with you. 100%, personally I don't want anything for my car. I like it the way it is. Why would I want to spend 800 bux american on an intake and exhaust that do nothing but make noise? (Puts that blow off valve noise maker in perspective doesn't it?)

To the dude that mentioned the window squeak thread. Ok maybe it is a minor annoyance, but when you post something like that and 10 people come back with the same problem, it gives many people the confidence to go back and make them (Mazda) fix it. That is why I am on this board. I want a heads up on anything that could go wrong with the car so I can get it fixed under warrenty. And you know what, I took my car in and got them to lube the tracks. I also told them this problem is popping up on other pro's, and if it doesn't go away I would be back for something other than a track lube.

I agree with the frustration about stupid posts like will whatever void my warrenty, but as our 3rd gen cars get older they will start to develop problems. Most of the problems will be pretty common, as we identify them, usually by a little squeak here or there, there will be lots of people that can give you good advice that will keep you from getting screwed by a crooked dealership or mechanic. So I don't want to see people with honest questions about weird stuff happening to their cars to be squashed by irrational idiots spouting **** like "just fix it yourself" Not everyone has the tools or the know how to do it.

As far as I am concerned the more people that post about problems they are having the better, it helps us sort out what is a major issue, and what is a quick fix.

My $0.02
