after thinking about this last night, i want to change my answer.

a 94 1.8 liter miata, with all the suspension goodies you can get your hands on, and a flyin' miata BBB turbo kit, four corner big brake kit, and maybe a mazdaspeed c-spec body kit.

No one mentioning the Supra? I've always liked the Audi's though, (A4, S4) even though they are notoriously weak-trannied *cough* protege *cough* The SVT Mustang is also a hell of a deal... And SVT Lightning

If I had play money for a 'play' car, I'd get a Cobra Kit car with a 427 or 351W.... Lot's and lot's of power, and they sound and look BAD ***!

I'd have to say a camaro SS or Firebird WO6. (for straight out fast cars anyway) Unfortunately they're not made anymore. As for twisties, all I can think about is a miata with all the goodies.

Best bang for the buck... the first thought that crossed my head was "the best bang would be a cheap 50-dollar hooker"... oh wait

I'd have go with the NSX too...

350Z with the track package that they have for it... I think it just makes it under 35k.

Crap, how could I have forgotten the Infinity G35 coupe? That's probably tickling the $35k price barrier, but ohhhhhhhh so nice... I think it looks nicer than the new Z although it's basically the same.

Under 35k? I'd have to go searching for a mid 90's Lotus Esprit myself.

I know this is getting over the $35k pricecap, but if I had money, I'd definately get a Z06. It runs right up there with the new 500hp viper (aka heat machine on wheels). Funny thing is, the new viper puts up better skidpad #s than the GT2 (That really suprised me). At least according to Motor Trend (I think, maybe C&D). They compared the Z06 and Viper. The Z06 has to be the best bang for your buck supercar out there.... 0-60: 3.9, and 1/4s in the 12s I believe.... All the while pulling around 17/25 mpg
