Crap, i cant remember what magazine i was reading but some guy asked if the placement of the shifter was awkward and if it made their arm tired. To my suprise they loved its placement. . .

That was in the latest edition of Super Street (April 2002) in the "Loud & Clear" section. It's supposed to be rally-style or something like that (i could be way off on that) but they said it's supposed to still be comfortable as it's not too far forward to make you reach. I wonder who jacks that one up first, and put's a short throw shifter in it.

Yeah that shifter for some reason reminds of that South Park episode where Mr. Garrison invented the "It".

that "front mounted ***** shifter" should be giving your gf some nasty thoughts.
Maybe you'll can take some shifter-options when you buy the car, like: Vibrating shifter. the more you rev the more it shake.

I think a nicer looking boot will make a difference in how it looks. That ribbed thing just makes it look weird.

It's supposed to be rally-style or something like that (i could be way off on that) but they said it's supposed to still be comfortable as it's not too far forward to make you reach.
You are correct, this is supposed to be taken from Rally Cars and it is supposed to be quite comfortable to shift with.
