7700 dollars is a lot of money , especially when u could get a FSZE or a Factory 1.8L or even a 2.0L and stuff that in there and then go turbo for a fraction of the price.. I mean you would save a lot of dough and have a car that is fast, .... I know the FSZE is fast cause I saw it run down in VA at the last MAPP meet I went to ... car had good zip and was easily chirping 2nd and 3rd, with 17's ....

go to www.car-part.com and put in your veh. make and vin(if needed) ....
call up derrick ,, ask him if the 2.0 would fit,, I know the 1.8 will fit and you will like that with a turbo,, that would be tire burning ...

Of course its faster than the FP and FS-DE, but its not that fast. Eeterp ran low to mid 15's with his. Plus you can't turbo the FS-ZE. If you do turbo it, you will basically have to detune it back to a FS-DE. Yes, a regular 2.0. Plus, the potential for the KL-ZE is much, much better than the FS-ZE. Also, the KL-ZE alone, with no mods, should get you into high 14's or very low 15s. It will be easier to get the KL-ZE to around 250hp than a FS-DE or 'ZE. To get that much power out of the FS engine you will have to spend a little more.
(In general. Just approximations and the main things)
You'll have to pay for a FS engine.- $1200 (give and take...)
Pay to get it dropped- $1500 (give or take)
Pay for a new transimission- $500 + $500 to install
Pay for clutch up grades- $400
Pay to turbo- (Lets say you got a FM kit) $4000 167.5 hp and 191.5 ft/lbs - at 6 psi of boost
Pay for forged internals (it will be needed)- $500
Pay for new ECU- $1000
That will be approximately $9600 just with the things I named and you still haven't broken 200hp. Plus, unless your into custom making a lot of other things and throwing around even more money, you won't even get past 250hp.
$7700 seems like an awesome price to reach 200hp without mods to the engine. 200hp is just the beginning for the KL-ZE, which is basically the 3/4 mark for the 2.0/

stilll cheaper ,, and with forged internals and that ecu you will easily go past 200hp ... you won't have space for a turbo in the klze.... lol
but whatever floats a persons boat,, if he can pull the swap off and foot the bill , not to mention the necessary upgrades in brakes and suspension ,,, another 2000 or so ... then more power to him .....

He can go NA No need for a turbo. I think getting 300hp NA should suffice.
But yeah, you'll will need an entirely new suspension which ever way you go.
I was going to try and get the KL-ZE, but my priorities changed. So, I just bought a 1.8l. I may do a few NA mods or maybe just a stage 1 turbo like at 6 or 7psi. I still think it'll be cheaper to make get 250hp from the KL-ZE, but I'm not looking to get that much form my pro anymore.

that is what I did ,,
I have a mazda FSM and a chilton
so torque specs are ready and on hand daily
sorry , I forgot to mention that I have been watching my pops pull front ends and motors apart since I was a kid, so .. u know

Yeah, I should. I would rather know how to do everything myself. I have no problem trying, I'm just worried that I might F' up something. If I have directions and tools, I usually do things myself.
