Man do I need help!

I own a 2002 yellow P5. My dealer has just came up with a MP3 off of lease....I really want the MP3 instead but here is the problems with it.
1.Only a year old with 60,000kms
2.2 window chips
3.Rusted out back calipers
4.small dent in front of hood
5.Numerous paint chips to front bumper

Now, my P5 is 5 months old....It only has 16000 kms. Its pretty much emaculate. They'll only trade with me if I put up $5000! Now is this really worth it? The previous owner won't part with it unless he gets atleast $25000 for it....that sounds a little steep to me....can anyone give me any advice?

no ways it's not worth it!! you'll be losing out big time if u trade plus put out money for that. i'd say that they should give YOU money instead.

This is definately a no brainer. You can spend less money to upgrade the suspension and exhaust (the only difference from P5) of your car to those of MP3, then you would on fixing up the MP3. It is clearly not worth it. Unless the dealer decides to fix the car up, then you might have a chance, but in this condition - no way!

Plus the fact that you have 16000 km on a car that you put the mileage on and have maintained as opposed to a car that has 60000 km that could have been to hell and back and poorly maintained.

25,000 is a joke u can get a new mazda speed pro for like 21,000 ,which is basically a mp3 with a turbo charger and intercooler ....Jon 93 lx

I am not sure, but I think that the orginal poster is Canadian and likely using candian dollars in his post. Whislt the MazdaSpeed is 21k USD (no?)...

sounds like a bad deal, you should check ebay right now, there is a yellow mp3 for sale off of a credit repo for $11k, i was looking into it, but still owe to much on mine so i would lose alot of $$.

I think if your thinking of getting an MP3, you should just wait and get the Mazdaspeed one.

EXACTLY! If you want a MP3 style car, buy a new MSP instead.
Why trade a 16000km car for a 60000km car?
Plus, the 2 cars are similiar.
If you are saying to trade your P5 for a 98/99 Integra Type-R, then that's something considerable.

In this case, the choice is clear, stay with your P5, and put that 5000$ on your mod or save that $ for your new ride.

**Wonder how people can drive 60000KM in a year.....

Keep the P5, save the $$ and add mods to your P5
Later on, you could buy the Mazda Speed
but definetly, do not get the MP3
