I have a 91 escort gt that I already race, but they change the rules to 1990 and older, so I was looking for a 90 protege so that I could interchange engines with since I already have two 1.8 engines one being a mazda, not sure what it came out of but I had to change over the valve cover and intake along with tb besides that it went right in with no problems.

Well you have the 1.8 Sohc, which was in the Escort wagons, and Proteges SE, and DX. and you have the DOHC, which came in LX proteges, LX Escorts and i think it was an option in the Escort wagons. Also the Tracers came with teh DOHC...I THINK.....
So u want a SOHC (DX) or DOHC (LX)?!?!?!?!?1
