Why do you need to go past 118MPH?

I guess I'm in the same boat cuz I had my P5 up to 130MPH but that was only once. I just wanted to see how fast it would go and that's it .. once my curiousity was fulfilled I was satisfied.

I hear ya, I got my protege to 134mph (i think down a slight hill) and i faintly remember going around a very slight bend and hearing my tires. scared the crap out of me.... so I put on toyo proxy 4's

But after that one stint, never been that fast again. gone to 120 before against my dads miata, but those are the only 2 times ever past 100.

hate to break it to ya, but the top speed govenor can not be removed...
theres a thread on this somewhere, but im too lazy to dig it up....
actually, i think it might actually be on mazdaforum.com....

you could try a standalone or piggyback ECU... but im not sure if that would do it...

ive also been thinking... could you just reflash the mazda3 ECU with a mazdaspeed ECU map??
or would that not work cuz of the different engine size and the turbo??
