True, but 10-15% is like 25-37 hp on a stock 250hp. That's quite a bit, but as mentioned this is most likely at the flywheel, not the pavement.

I guess we'll see after the dyno tests.

Thanks for the info but this isn't my first turbo rodeo. I've seen the gains that these mods add to turbo vehicles from my own experience and I just personally can't see that kind of increase going to the pavement just from CAI and a catback. If someone proves me wrong I will be more than happy to say I was wrong but until then..................................

Already have both bolted on and it is like 5 million hp. Yea right. I would love to get it on a dyno to see what the hp gain is. You may love this, a sales rep stated with the CAI and the catback you get 30hp and 15trq increase. Ha. If anyone in the Dallas TX area is willing to hook my 3 up to a dyno I would love to post the gains. BTW, What are you thoughts on a flywheel and clutch set up (Mazda Speed to keep the warranty up - daily driver)?

It's a good idea if the OEM clutch is anything like it was in the MSP. What kind of hp numbers do you have in mind for your car? That's going to be another big part of the decision in whether to go Mazdaspeed or go to another company. As far as warranty being voided from those upgrades; it can only be voided if those parts can be PROVEN to be a DIRECT cause of a warranty issue. I'd find that hard for any tech to do considering it's a better/stronger part than OEM. If you plan on just doing minor bolt ons then I'd say the Mazdaspeed stuff is the way to go. Otherwise I'd look into another company like Exedy. Which from what I've heard the Mazdaspeed stuff is just Exedy clutches that have been branded with the Mazdaspeed name. Not sure how true that is tho.

^^ lol you can go 100whp over stock on the MSP clutch, what're you talkin about

But yes, the MSP/Mazdaspeed/Mazda clutches are all Exedy from what I've seen (i.e. my stock one and my MSP one)

I wasn't saying that the MSP clutch couldn't handle the power. What I was saying about it is that mine just didn't last long at all under tough driving conditions. It started slipping early. I guess different ppl had different luck with em. Mine just wasn't so good.

Different people also drive manual transmission cars very differently

at 80k miles my stock clutch looked nearly identical to the new one (in terms of meat on it)..

It's gotta be flywheel HP they're talking..

Yes Gents I am talking about hp. Stop the talk I am convinced I will get the Mazda Speed Flywheel, clutch and short throw shifter. I already have the Mazda Speed CAI and the Catback -- daddy like! Right now I am not looking for a lot of gain. Since this is a daily driver I would like to keep the warranty in tacked, will do more after warranty expires. Fantasy, I would like to have the "3" actually mean hp!

That shouldn't be very hard at all with the Speed3. Some good tuning and opening up the airways in and out throughout the extremely choked 2.3 should get you there.
