Mazda Speed

I GOT A GOOD QUESTION HERE, I JUST BOUGHT A NEW MS PROTESE. A BUDDY OF MINE TOLD ME ABOUT THIS CLUB, SO I GOT HOOKED UP. HE TOLD ME ABOUT SOME SPECIAL SPARK PLUGS AND AN EXTRA BOOST KIT I CAN INSTALL ON MY SPEED. THE BOOST MIGHT BE TOO MUCH, BUT I AM DEFINITLY INTERESTED IN THE SPARK PLUGS OR ANY OTHER COOL ITEM I COULD ADD.

um yea....... well if you are not gonna up the boost the plugs would be pointless. for the boost con troler you can go to http://joepmbc.com/
and the plugs he may be talking about sre the NGK BKR7E and all they are just a"colder" plug that will lessen the chance of detantion. there plenty of stuff out for the MSP. ther aslo a nouther fourm called MSprotege.com that has a lot of vender that sell MSP stuff and there aslo some here.

I used to own a Mazdaspeed. If you have any upgrading questions I can help point you int the right direction. Good purchase.

My opinion::

First mod.....PAY YOUR CAR OFF! thin about how much more you can do to your car if you can spend your whole car payment in mods. you could afford to do everything right the first time.

These guys have a bunch of product for the mazdapseed protege

www.essentialspeed.com

They do really good work and have built some really sweet cars. I believe they have one of if not the fastest mazdaspeed right now.

I THOUGHT ABOUT IT AND I WILL NOT PUT ANYMORE ENGINE MODS ON THE CAR. IT ALL READY HAS ENOUGH POWER FOR A FOUR CYLINDER ANYWAY. I DON'T WANT THE ENGINE TO MESS UP THE FIRST SIX MONTHS I HAVE IT. BUT WHERE COULD I FIND OTHER ACCESORIES TO SPICE UP THE LOOK A LITTLE.

the looks are great! I would only alter the ride height a little maybe a half inch or so. Too much will alter the STELLAR handling. As for power, you could very easily add a manual boost controller, boost gauge and then a slightly colder plug. This would easily put you above just about every other 4-banger. 10psi, colder plug and a nice mid-pipe exhaust will rock. Wouldn't cost you much either, maybe $750 for everything. Leave the looks alone, I've seen too many good looking cars ruined by autozone parts. Do it right, take your time, enjoy the jealous stares.

I'm not too sure about that you might have to check around there are quite a few of them out there and I know all the shops that make kits for the cars have a project mazdaspeed so untill people post the numbers who knows.

For $750 you can get a boost controller, boost gauge, colder plugs and a racing downpipe without cats. It would make good power and be a one day project. Star installing in the morning and take it t the track that night. I'd say easily 225hp+ for those simple mods. My car showed 227hp on the motor with just my exhaust and a cone filter. Boost was stock.

um......huh?? the MS Protege is 170 HP stock! theres no bloody way you got a 50 HP boost with bolt ons like that!! not that im dissing proteges or anything like that, but that power gain is nearly impossible. care to explain yourself?
