subs?

hey yall, i was just recently looking into putting some sort of subwoofer in my car. i was wondering which brand might be the best for the money, {i dont want to spend 1000 dollars on a glorified massaging unit for my car.} i dont need anything extremly loud. just enough to sound good.
and we have all heard the cars whose trunk rattles and sounds like crap... is this a problem with the mazda 3 4door? i really dont want to spend all that money just to be the topic of many a joke by all the people sitting next to me at the stop light.... i either want them to barely notice, or say "DAMN that sounds good", and not "oh wow, that sounds like CRAP!"
any advice on the situation would be great thanks yall

kicker comp vr... Relatively inexpensive, but sound really good. always a good Idea to put some sound deadening material.

for me the only choice is easy.

Infinity BassLink 10". It's an all in one, amp sub combo. It's got a good sound and when you want to go fast or racing you just unhook the whole box and drop it off at home. Instant weight savings.

Infinity does make a good sub, but if you do the box right, you can remove any sub/box/amp.

+1 million. Plus I can actually still use the trunk with it, unlike most sub boxes I've seen. For the price I can't recommend anything else

That's what I have and It's pretty good for the money (~$150). Sound is decent - not as loud as 2x12" but still provides enough bass. Easy installation and comes with EVERYTHING you need. Not heavy and doesn't take much space.

I have a brand new Diamond Audio 10" that I'll sell ya for cheap. It's 500Wrms and has never been installed. When I got burned on the other forum for 350 bucks by Protegegurly over an amp to run it, I got eggy on the whole subwoofer idea and put the sub in storage.

I paid 250 + shipping + tax, but I'll let it go for 100+ shipping.

It's a 10" D6. I listened to a TON of subs before I picked this one. It's got SPL and SQ in one package, and IMO, it blew away JL, Memphis and a lot more.
