This is a strange one...Mazda 3 won't turn off...lights?
I had to join tonight in order to ask a question. My son has a 2017 Mazda 3. He's owned it since new (graduation gift).
I went out to move his car tonight (we have to play re-arrange in the driveway often) and I couldn't get his car to turn off (engine and everything). I tried everything. I came in and yelled up to him to throw down his key (I thought maybe that would do it instead of the extra one I was using). When he asked why, I explained. He said, oh yeah, you have to turn the lights off. I said HUH?! HOW LONG HAS THAT BEEN GOING ON?!?! He said it's been doing that since it got cold (Ohio). TEENAGERS!!!!!
Has anyone seen this problem? I went out, and sure enough, the car turned off after I turned the headlights to the off position. I replicated it a few more times to see if I could figure out what was going on. No joy. Same result.
Any ideas? I'm not the biggest dummy on earth, nor am I the best mechanic. I'm somewhere in-between. But nothing on this makes sense. I may live my life a few decades ago, when things were simpler, but I've never even heard of such a problem.
Fire away. And thank you in advance.
