... just installed a nice little powered sub in my 3 ... a little 8" Bazooka in the trunk ... install was sooooooo simple! ... and the sound is ******* nice and full now! ...

ive herd of bazookas. they are alot better the open cone speakers

 

Do you have a write up or pic's? Where did you run the wiring to?

 

... I ran the power wire (with a fuse) from the battery to the trunk (all wire is easily hidden under the trim panels for a clean invisible install), the audio comes from the rear left speaker, actually from the audio wires run from under the trim from the "pillar" b/n the front and rear doors, ... then I used a $10CDN converter to go from the "low out-put", to the high "rca-type" output for the bazooka ... I know ... I know ... all you audiophiles out there will say that it should run right form the amp ... but I didn't want to remove the factory stereo or the complete dash, (just yet), so taking the audio from the rear speaker worked very well for me ... at some point I will switch out the factory stereo and put in a nice dvd screen unit ... the install took about 1 hour ... and was quite painless.

The sub is all black, only about 10" diameter and 20" long, it is positioned in the trunk on the drivers side, and points to the rear (I tried it firing a few ways ... and this is the best position that I heard) ... I got it new on ebay for $70.00USD ... it's bass output is adjustable on the sub ... and the thump from this little 8" powered sub is actually quite impressive ... it's not shaking the whole block but is very noticable does a great job taming down and evening the factory sound ... and I still have trunk space to spare for groceries and other crap ... highly recomended! ...

... the wiring is very very very simple ...

#1. you just need power form the battery (I am certian the internet or someone on this forum could explain it) ...

#2. in my case (running audio from the rear left speaker) the audio wires are colour coded (red/black) and easily found under the trim piece from the tall pillar b/n the driver's door and the rear passenger door ... just CAREFULLY splice into the wires and run the red and black to the powered sub inputs (you can either use the low input on the supplied bazooka harness, OR use a $10CDN convertor to go from low input to the high "RCA" type input) ... and voila! ... "your booming and your booming and your booming in your jeep" ... well actually ... booming in your 3 ... hope that helps.

... or you just could pay an audio install shop about $100CDN to have it done for you in an hour and a half ...
