too big and too small sub enclosures?
will anything bad happen if your enclosure is too big? or too small?
the box is between 1.6?FT and 1.7?FT and on the clarion spec sheet optimum size is 0.73?FT?2 = 1.52?FT
will ~0.13?FT make a diffrence?

also remember that the woofers themselves take up some space, i'm assuming you have x2 10" subs, so figure. (an estimated) 0.069 each, for 0.138 combined, take that away from the 1.65 box, and you get 1.512. Pretty close huh!
and yes, it makes all the difference in the world to have the woofer matched to the enclosure, from an audiophile POV.

General accepted box range is + or - 10% of the recommended volume. So you should be fine.
Just don't go TOO small - I have a single 10" that, after driver displacement, is in about .4 (maybe less) cu/ft of sealed airspace. It's just plain too small.
Even though my 10" RF Punch HX2 can be used down to .2 sealed (according to the spec sheet), I'm not getting the output I want (or that I should have, considering it's getting 500 watts RMS). I'm going to be building a bigger box as soon as I get my hands on some fiberglassing materials.
But + or - 10% volume will make an inaudible differnece, if any at all.
