My 2008 Mazda 3 is melting! There is a part on the front bumper that literally melted, and now both side view mirrors are doing the same. What is causing this? Is this covered under warranty? Are you aware of any trend like this? Unbelievable!

Where are you located? Where does the vehicle park? Where on the bumper and mirrors is it melting? Pics?

I've only ever heard of people melting parts of light housings with high wattage lamps, never heard of melting mirrors or bumpers.

The car is parked in an apartment complex in GA, or on a nearby college campus. No covered parking. The side view mirrors are melting on the back (opposite the mirror glass). I don't know what the part is called that has melted on the front, but it is a plastic part just between the hood and the bumper. The body shop man was baffled, but guessed that a truck might have backed up near it and the exhaust was too hot. ??
