Broken plastic

Over time, several of the plastic pieces inside my car have become brittle and broken:

Front driver side window crank
front passenger seat belt loop
piece that goes over the top of the driver's door on the inside

Where can I find replacements for these at the lowest cost? There aren't any junkyards near me that I know of. Also I'm afraid that the Mazda dealer will try to rip me off.

By seat belt loop, I mean the plastic piece that catches the lap belt and won't let it slide all the way down when it is unbuckled.

look in your yellow pages under auto salvage and recycling (sp?) and look to see how close one really is, if there isnt one you may have to goto a dealer, unless someone on p club will be generous and get them outta junk yard for you

I am replacing the passenger side loop for the seat belt tomorrow. The dealer charged me $22.50 for the loop and the plastic piece to which it is attached. I figured it isn't worth putting in a used piece from a junkyard because the used one will break in a year. I am on the second on the driver side and third on the passenger side because my stupid passengers release the seat belt latch and let the belt slam into the loop.

I would pay big for a metal replacement and thought about having it fabricated in a metal shop, but haven't got around to it.

you could give www.mazdarecycling.com a try. Never order anything from them myslef so I cannot tell you how good (and expensive ) of a company they are.

Thanks for the input, folks. The seat belt loop for me, though, isn't really so mucha big deal as the friggen WINDOW CRANK. I think what I'm going to do for it is take it off, super-glue it back together, and put it in one of the back doors where it won't be used as much.

well, alot of little things break on the protege that you can never just be happy with, simple as that. as far as your door handle, get a dealer replacement if you can't find a yard. for your seat belt loop thing (i think this is what you're talking about http://www.protegeclub.com/forum/sho...ight=seat+belt ), read the second page of this thread, might give you an idea. and what plastic thing over the whatchamacallit? lol, i have no clue what you're talking about there. well, hope this helps, good luck.

and work to the wise, where there's a mazda, there is a junkyard, trust me

edit: oh yeah, mazda recycling is GREAT to deal with, trust me on that one
