Hi, My wife's grandad has been having problems with his Mazda 3 (diesel, approx 2006). Last week it would not start so a local garage came and used a booster pack to jump it.

After this the car ran for a couple of miles and then was parked. When returning to the car it would not start.

Have tried to jump start it again it is showing the flashing car with key light. I tried the whole turn key and open door 3 times thing etc which has worked before but not this time. After being hooked up to another car the battery looses charge very quickly and the dials jump about.

The car has been taken to a local Mazda dealer who tried a diagnostic check but their machine does not recognise the car.

Any help greatly appreciated! It appears that the immobiliser is kicking in but there doesn't seem to be a way around it.
