Hello to all. New to the site. I am very close to purchasing an 06 3 5 door. I previously had a 98 MPV that was totalled in a wreck about 3 weeks ago. I have been looking for a replacement and ended up with the 3 coming out on top. I do a ton of kayaking and bike racing. Anyone put a small receiver hitch on one of these yet? I did a ton of work on my 09 MPV allsport and am hoping to take care of this car the same. thanks for the time.

 

welcome to the forums. the 3 is a great car all the way around. if i were in the market for a new car it would be either the 3 or the 5!

 

The only caution I would suggest would be to become familar with the oil filter set-up on the 2.3. It is a cartridge style filter and the O-ring should be replaced every service.
I've never seen a hitch on a 3 yet but anything is possible.

I got one but never have used it. The people that had it before me put one on it they did alot of events with the local miata club and they traded it in for a 5 door.
