Question Mazda 3 GT Air Conditioner - Sluggish?

Hi all, I bought my new 2007 Mazda 3GT the other day and was wondering why the A/C is so sluggish - I have to place it on power 2 or 3 just to feel anything and yes, recycling button is pressed on also.

Anyone else have this issue or is this just normal?

it has a auto climate control in it so you also have to look at the temperature setting you have it on as well...it is seemingly "sluggish" possibly b/c the temp. you have it on is fairly close to the temp. of the outside air...hope this helps and makes sense.

Maybe you can spare more info on your situation...

Here in the NY Tri-State Area, we've been experiencing really hot temperatures the past few days, with high humidity. I don't really use the Auto-Climate Control feature that much. I prefer to put the A/C Temperature at 60 degrees during daytime and higher during nighttime.

Me having previous cars with 4-speed A/C's, I kinda had a problem using the GT 7-speed A/C. But once summer hit here, I found the GT kinda cold after a few minutes, even if it's more than 95 degrees with high humidity outside. I've been using mine mostly at speed power 3.

If the car is baked under the sun for hours, I'll turn the car on, wait for the engine temperature gauge to go up and settle, then, turn the A/C on at speed-power 5, with the air circulation button on. After a few minutes, you'll bring it down to 4, then 3. Don't blow the A/C on right away as soon as you turn the vehicle on. Wait for the engine to heat up. It really helps.

Lets all remember that the AC compressor is controlled electronically in these cars, if you notice more sluggishness under heavy accel then the vehicle is stealing power from the AC to help out during Acceleration.
