The lack of ability for the 3 to play cds made on the computer is just so you "have" to buy the mp3 cd upgrade. It's so gay. I am just going to install a tapeplayer and plug in my ipod. Stupid mazda. Speaking of which, how much do you think I could get like a tape player that would be kind of external? Like a tape player bolted to like the side of the passenger seat or something. Mazda sells a tape player upgrade for 200 dollars and I know that is too much.
[edit]- I really don't want to get rid of the stock radio. I really like the way it looks. If I ever plan to get an upgrade on the speakers can I get an amp or something to give the radio the added power for the speekers. I am a radio noob so bear with me.

Not in this car.Alot of GM's you have to that. I work at a car audio shop and let me tell you it was pretty simple.

You could amplify the factory speakers for more sound. I would just replace them. Yeah the factory radio does look good but I am going to put a Monitor to comphensate for the awesome looks.

if you have an ipod just get the fm adapter... way better then tape player, it broadcasts a low band fm signal so you don't have to have a tape interface, and is just as good quality as the tape interface...not as good as cd or direct from your ipod... but good nonetheless, also if you want to upgrade your stereo use a line out adapter, thats what i am going to do, i will post detials once i get the ball rolling on it... basically gives you the after market abillity with a stock deck... b/c i like the way it looks as well, and love my steering wheel controls!!!

thanks for the tip with upgrading the stereo and No, I have an fm tuner. It's crap. those tape things play at cd quality if not better if you have the right song on your ipod. The fm plays worse then radio.

Hey guys. Do they have a dash kit for a Mazda6 hatchback? I envy the Mazda3 dashkit. I'm looking to buy a M6 but I won't until I can install my old Sony mp3 CD deck.

BTW, any chance that I can get the steering wheel volume buttons to work with the Sony? I would have to replace the Bose deck, and I hate the idea that I paid for a deck that I'm not gonna use

Thnx
