i haven't heard of anything as of yet, and i had my stereo guy look around and make some calls, so if anyone has heard of one i to am interested....

I did some calling around and I did find that Metra makes a dash kit for the Mazda 3. The part # is 99-7504. The only problem is it is on back order. i work at a car audio shop and I am going to call our Metra distributor to see if they have one. I will fill you in when I find more out. Also I think Best KIts make a wire harness that is a BAA7902. Hope the info is helpful.

Well a tech from Metra has emailed me pictures of the new Mazda 3 dashkit. Part#99-7504. It is pretty sweet. It replaces the two slots of where the radio is and also the display above the radio where the clock is. If you wanna see it email me and I'll send you a picture.

Can you tell me the web site for metra. I went on google, and this one site metraonline.com came up but they did not have that part number listed.

Just write the part number, which is 99-7504, in google and you'll find it easily.

I just got my kit yesterday. It is sweet looking. Wanna see pics ask.
|
kit look good?
Yeah it will be nice if you send me a couple of pics. I expected the kit to be cheap and bad plastic looking. I thought to make a carbon fiber plate instead. But I want to see how it looks THX

I want to see it also.
|
skinny, check your pms. I want the pic.
|
Thanks for the pic. That looks nice. So is the screen at the top even do anything anymore? Or is it just there for looks?
|
You replace the display screen with a pocket. As seen in the picture. Thanks.

Thanks for the pic! I think i'm sold on getting an aftermarket stereo.
Did you have any problems replacing the stereo? I recently read an article in the Boston Globe about how car companies are integrating a ton of different controls (A/C, alarm, and computer diagnostics systems) in with the radio... so when you try to take out the factory stereo and put a new one in, it stops those things from working. People who want an aftermarket have to put the factory stereo in the trunk in order to keep the car running! Un-Real. I assume that did not happen here. |
