Can I swap out manual controls on my 2010 mazda 3 i sport?

I have the manual controls for the air/heat. I wanted to know if I can change that to electric. I have a manual transmission as well. Also, I'm planning on having actuators attached to all windows and trunk. Anything I need to know here?

One last thing...I'd like to also know if its possible for me to upgrade the display (where the temp is indicated) to the version that gives mpg and other displays as well.

Thanks.

the electric version I think needs more control motors and sensors than is in that center unit.

What about your actuators to the windows & trunk, you mean for auto lock / unlock? I doubt you can add this from factory wiring since the receiver isn't there. Note that the doors have a connector to unplug, not just a set of wires through a hole like the old days. But you can fit small wires through the connector unused pins anyway.

The display should be able to display the trip computer, and there's a button sequence you'll have to look up... though I recall seeing that in 08 or 09 they 'fixed' the systems so the user can't turn on the trip computer feature.

Djs,

Thanks for replying btw. I followed that thread and unfortunately that button sequence didnt work for me. If you come across it, I'm sure you'll share!

As for the actuators...I wasnt planning on doing the job myself. I'm planning on having someone install for auto-unlock, yes. What a pain the a** to have to unlock each door (in use)!

I'm suprised you didn't get power locks with the sport package... but for future purchases see how much time and effort it takes to get it how you want vs just buying the upper trim package that would have that included.
One positive is that to keep all the wiring the same on all vehicles the car body side probably has all the wiring for updating your power locks - though they probably don't have the wires in the doors.

The 'i' Sport did not come with door locks believe it or not. I was furious myself but unless I upgraded to the touring model, I just didnt get it on mine. The touring model included the blue tooth, power locks and the cruise package. It was an add'l 2k package and I just didnt think it was worth it.

So any ideas where to locate this number sequence? Do you think it's a matter of time before someone figures it out or the info is leaked?

The display info is probably completely locked out, since any of the earlier models had that sequence unlocked, and it's changed, it's probably gone all together. After all, it's a feature that mazda wants you to pay for.
You may be able to befriend some workers at the dealership and see if they could reflash the radio firmware to make it think it's in in a model that has the trip computer. My guess is that is what's needed.
