'03 Mazda ProtegeSpeed

I own a '03 Mazda Protege SPEED Sedan. It has an abundance of aftermarket additions; turbo; stainless steel exhaust; K&N cold air intake; new ignition wires, coils, plugs,$8000 on suspension; renewed body kit; etc. 129kms.
I am a disabled senior who bought this car on a whim, knowing nothing about a performance car and now due to further medical issues, can no longer drive a standard (5speed). I have endeavored to sell it, without results.
My question is: should I continue to put more work into it or keep it until the next summer and hope that it will then sell? Also what value do you think it's worth?
Thanks for any input.
Cheers,
Spud

Welcome to the club, Spud.
Pics and a list of modifications with brand names would really help. Sorry to hear about your condition.

03 Mazda Protege Speed

Thanks for the welcoming reply. Please bear with me - I have looked after my cars all my life, but this one is not in the same league. I have some names and hope they are for the right parts.Quadralink Rear Suspension; Callaway full stainless exhaust; Kenwood in-dash w/iPod dock, new X500-1 amp; new Alpine sub. Attempting to attach pics.
Cheers,
Spus

If you closed your thread on purpose, let me know and I'll lock it up again.

Looks like you've also got projector headlights, some wheels and an obvious bodykit, too.

If you've got the parts to make it LOOK stock, you'll get more money out of it. Plus, I'll bet you can get some money back for the parts on it. Good luck!

Eggy,I did not close my tread on purpose-just being an amature, I guess. I must admit I'm somewhat perplexed, by your last reply. I thought that having more on it, would attract the younger buyer. Then again, i suppose they would want to do their own thing. Without taking advantage of your good nature, could I press you for more details - what to remove; what to leave;paint and anything else you might think off. Much obliged for your kind help and patience.

No problem at all, Spud.
There is another site called Mazdas247dotcom that has much more traffic than here and I'm sure someone will want those parts. If you were closer, I'd probably hit you up for those hard intake/intercooler pipes myself!

My thinking is: When I see a car that's been modified, it makes me think that it may have been abused, ie street racing, NOS, super low coilovers, etc.
A bone stock car from someone over 40 is about as desirable as they come, because someone more mature is more likely to change the oil regularly, and take care of things like fluid leaks, and not abuse the car at every red light.

Welcome to the club. If you are asking if I have a Mazda 3 2009, NO! Mine is a 2003 protege Speed.
