@DDM: I am not, NOT happy.

It's 5/7/2010.

I've decided to buy 3 sets of HID's. DDM Tuning has quite a following among the Mazda 3 crowd. They're selling Apexcone HID kits for $30 a pop, or a slim ballast (DDM branded, I think) for an extra $10 a pop. I register on their site and order highs, lows and fogs. All 4500k. I didn't bother with the slims; there's plenty of space in my bay to make it work, I figure its not worth the extra $10 per.

Okay, that was on the 7th. I want to point out a few things on their web site.
A quote about how long orders typically take to process;

It typically takes one to two business days for us to process an order (prior to shipping it). Once the order has shipped, your estimated time of arrival will be determined by your selected shipping company. Once your order is shipped you will recieve a tracking number via email.
Okay. I'll start here. I placed the order on 5/7 at 2AM. If they're in San Diego, they're in the same time zone as me, meaning realistically the order should have been processed that day, Friday. Or, perhaps Monday. But let's say Tuesday just for kicks.

5/18/2010 rolls around. Its been a week since they (generously) should have processed the order. Probably more like a week and a day/two. I still haven't received a tracking number, which means it hasn't shipped. I don't even know if its been processed yet. Their website is supposed to show you the status of your order. I log in and there are no orders listed in my history. WTF?
I send them an email inquiring as to why it hasn't shipped, and why it doesn't show up under my history. I get nothing back.

5/19/2010 rolls around. Now I'm just angry. I submit an angry inquiry (along the lines of yesterdays email) through their stupid ticketing system. I get a reply back the same day! "Your order is scheduled to be packaged tomorrow and sent out either the same day or the following business day." He also mentions that "We are currently out of stock on the 9005 4500k bulbs at the moment and will not be expecting another shipment until the end of May. Your order will be partially shipped without the 9005 kit."

Okay, well its something. I make a snap decision to change my lows and fogs to 5000k. I call in and ask if changing my order now will delay shipping any longer. The operator tells me no, it will still go out tomorrow. Great. I change it. A day or two go by. Still no tracking number or any indication that anything is shipped.

5/20/2010 I get an invoice. Yay. Has it shipped? I don't know! There's no tracking number, there's no indication on their website, and it still hasn't showed up at my door.

Today is 5/28/2010. If it shipped when they said it would, I'm thinking 9 days is enough time to clear customs.

Most products ship directly from our warehouse in San Diego, CA within 24 hours of the order being place (We are closed on weekends so orders placed from Friday night – Monday morning typically leave on Monday afternoon). Some products will ship direct from the manufacturer and usually leave within 24-48 hours from the time the order is placed. Depending on your location the delivery time may take up to 5 business days although it is typically 2-4 days. There may be slight delays during the holiday season.

Interesting...

Long story short, I can not recommend DDM to anybody. I will never purchase from them again. They have NOT kept me in the loop as my order, they are taking WAY too long. I wouldn't mind waiting if I knew something was happening, but for all I know they took my money and are now playing golf somewhere.

I've emailed, called, and submitted tickets. Nobody can tell me whats going on with my order, and everyone says something different.

DDM's "Customer Service," isn't. Stay away.
Sadly I'm reduced to just waiting, and posting on forums (and my personal blog) about what an epic fail they've been to their customer.
Case closed.

yea thats where i got my HIDs for my RX8. i got D2S 6k low beams and 3k slim HID kit.

lets just say it took forever to get to me. first they told me it would take a week, then after that i called, emailed, FB'ed them and got no response, so i waited it out. a month and a half went by until i got something in the mail. no email notification or nothing. [i was patient since my car was in the shop during that time] then when i tried the D2S bulbs, they sent me a mis matched pair! WTF? one 6k and one 8K. so i had to remove the bumper/headlight assembly and return it to them. at least the turn around time was 3 days, but the fact that they didnt check the first time, and it took forever for them to pack and ship it to me.

i know they get a lot of business, but the matter is not to take to many orders they dont have or cant handle.

TwiztOG43 -
sad story! Thanks for sharing.
I totally 2nd your notion that if they can't ship, they shouldn't handle that kind of volume (in orders). Not cool.

A month and a half is crazy, way too long.
Price isn't the issue here...
