I have an 04 Mazda Protege...great car...check engine light came on, folks at service dept informed me it was a "Po171" problem, or an Intake Air Booth Split. Cost $235.00....was I ripped?

 

have owned at 95' Protege and and 02' P5. Both have had split intake problem. You can replace the intake yourself. Just takes a bit of time. Dont remember the cost..sorry..seems like it was under 100$. Labor always get you.
