2005 Mazda 3i AC, Lacks Proper Cooling
2005 Mazda 3i AC, Lacks Proper Cooling
Bought new, my 2005 base model 3i AC has never been up to par with other cars I have driven.
Here in Central Ohio, ambient air temps over high 80s it just doesn't cool the interior very well, and the fan has to be on high.
Running it on recirculation, is not an option, as that's not proper operation, and it shouldn't have to be operated that way. Other cars I have driven work fine with outside air being used, and usually the recir mode gets you less air flow volume.
The cab filter hasn't been changed yet, but will be, but when it was a new car, the AC wasn't any better than it is now.
I have overcharged and undercharged the AC, and it works slightly better about 2-3 onces low on Freon.
Has Mazda ever had a secret recall on this issue? Or a TSB? I've never recieved any, even normal recalls. A 1 owner car, I'd like to know if I missed any.
