I heard there is not much difference in the 05's. I could be wrong. I had a camaro (98) and my boyfriend's best friend had a 02 and there was not a thing different about it. But then again, that is Chevy for you!!!

Unless you are waiting for the Mazdaspeed version, I wouldn't worry about it. The car is a hot seller and not much will change next year (it is only a 1 year old design). Besides, you may be able to negotiate a better deal on the '04.

My wife and I bought a Mazda 6 and I am planning on buying a Mazda 3 next year but I am hoping they take a few luxuries from the Mazda 6 and incorporate them into the 3's interior....such as .... electric adjustable seats and a center console like the 6... but still hoping for the MazdaSpeed

The 05 will be almost exactly the same as the 04. Go to kbb.com and run the prices and features for both model years...

Will the 2005 have heated seats?

Look on kbb.com to see what the "available options" are on 2005 models.
Unlike some sites, and even some dealers, that site seems to be programmed to know which options conflict or must go together.

Also I've read on this board that there are aftermarket guys who will re-upholster your sets in leather (or presumably the fabric of your choice) and add seat warmers....

There is no difference in the 04's and the 05's. I was going to get a 2005 model last week because they had about twenty of them on the lot but the interest rate on them was horrible. Even with my good credit score, the lowest interest rate was 11.9% on the 05's. I got into a 04 with 4.9% interest with the same package that was on the 2005 model. There is no difference in the two. Once again, knowing my luck, the Mazda 3 speeds will come out pretty soon and I will be dying to buy one. Does that answer you question?

You could have probably run your credit through a local bank and gotten 5.5%-5.9% on the '05 if you wanted the new model. I'm sure they've made a few changes to the '05...you know, like bug fixes and stuff like that...kinda like a windows SP...same system, fewer issues. Anyway, hope you're happy with your 3. I'd be driving one if my wife didn't buy a $20,000 SUV

Yes, I am sure their are a few things different; but overall, it is the same car. I tried a few different banks and the best I could get was 8.04% and that is still to high. I received 4.9%, and that is pretty damn good interest for a brand new car. The best Mazda was giving out was 1.9%, but you would have to be able to buy a $500,000.00 home to get that percentage. Anyways, I love the car. So much better than the Protege Speed.

I would think that bug fixes are rolled into the production runs "continually". I'd bet there have been several so far.

I saw one blurb in a magazine for a mazdaspeed 3, but they said if they did come out with one it would be with the 2.0L motor, not the 2.3, due to its ability to play in the rally scene, which is restricted to 2.0L (very lame, seeing as anyone who is interested in performance would have gotten the 2.3L in the first place). And I think they said it would be at least 2006 before that would happen, so unless you can wait that long...

I'm sure the speed won't just be an engine upgrade. It will likely have a wicked suspension, a different body kit and some crazy interior modifications. It's still the same class as the protege, so it assumibly will have the same performance of a MS Protege, hence using the exact same engine. I'd guess it's going to be turbocharged up to ~200-220hp to run with the Chevy Cobalt, Saturn Redline, and neon SRT4. They couldn't use the 2.3L if they're using it in the MS 6...no one would want the 6. Plus, that 2.3L takes up a lot of room under the hood of the 3, so using the 2.0L leaves more room for the turbo/supercharger. it'd be hot if Roddimus could convince Mazda to use the WOMP kit on the car
