2005 Low Beam Headlamp

As I was replacing the driver-side low beam lamp I broke that stupid clip which holds the lamp in place. Anyone have a parts source that may stock this thing. The stores in my location keep referring to the dealership. Just spent $54 this past week on a rubber seal for my fuel pump so I am still a little sore from bearing screwed by the dealership in my area........any ideas??

when you buy parts over the counter(otc) from a local mazda dealer, you pay a price that is way more than what mazda of north america suggests. you will pay at least 20% above sugg list. this is because each dealer is a franchise, and they are not bound by the suggested list price of a part. the only way to get a decent price is to shop online, but that means a wait. there are 2 online mazda sites that will give you the best price. one is tasca

http://www.tascaparts.com/partlocato...?siteid=213668

the other is parts.com:

http://www.parts.com/

i have been using tasca for years. they will have the best price for the part, plus the lowest shipping cost. parts.com is the autonation group, several hundred dealers, all makes and models. they sell parts for the same price as tasca, but they have higher ship+handling. but they will be faster, because they will ship from whatever dealer they have that is closest. with any dealer, if the part is not stocked, then they have to go to a regional warehouse. so it might take a few days to get it to them, then they ship to you. when you factor in the time you spend going to the dealer, and the cost of gas, having it come to your door can be cheaper.

if you want to see what your local dealer upcharge is, get your receipt. then go on tasca, and put in the part number. you will then see mazda suggested list price, and what your tasca discount price is. from there, you can compare your cost from your local dealer. you can go further, and make like you are ordering the part from tasca, then you will see shipping, and a final out the door price. i am always looking for other dealers online, but so far only tasca and parts.com have the best prices on genuine parts. non genuine aftermarket parts are a whole different world.
