oval track racing

I am thinking about building a protege for oval trck racing next year, I used to have a escort gt (91), I was wondering what parts would change over in the suspension department(swaybars, springs, struts, rear disc, a-arms) and if anyone race one on a oval track. They changed my rules to a 1990 year and older class and since the egt was 91 and I could use the same engine on a 90 pro it would be the best way to go.

yup, you can swap everything. The 2nd gen EGT (91-96) and 1st gen Pro (90-94) have the same engine/drivetrain and chassis, so it's pretty much all the same.

the EGT is just a 2dr Protege with a Ford body kit

BTW, where are is this oval racing located in California?

You can actually race a Protege on the oval tracks around there? Most of the tracks in my area have outlawed 16-valve and/or DOHC engines in Mini-Stock. Also, just outta curiousity, are you talking about dirt oval or paved oval?

Whenever you get the car built, we want pictures!
