oval track racing
I am thinking about building a protege for oval trck racing next year, I used to have a escort gt (91), I was wondering what parts would change over in the suspension department(swaybars, springs, struts, rear disc, a-arms) and if anyone race one on a oval track. They changed my rules to a 1990 year and older class and since the egt was 91 and I could use the same engine on a 90 pro it would be the best way to go.

You can actually race a Protege on the oval tracks around there? Most of the tracks in my area have outlawed 16-valve and/or DOHC engines in Mini-Stock. :( Also, just outta curiousity, are you talking about dirt oval or paved oval?
Whenever you get the car built, we want pictures! :D |
one of the tracks is a 1/2 dirt the other two are paved one 1/4 and 1/3 mile. I will have pics, I have a pic of my egt if you want to see it I just duno how to post it here.

also we cant run fuel injection in our mini stock division either, I run a division called SPORT COMPACTS, which the engine is pretty much stock.
