my times, 14.3

sorry i dont have a scanner or any other way of copying the timeslip, but this was my first time drag racing legally and i cant say that im dissapointed because i think i did pretty damn good. my first run was a 14.8 and i spun all the way through first, then the next time around i realized that i went through the puddle of water that they spray on the ground. then my next two runs were a 14.5, and my final run was a 14.3.

Temp: 80
R/T: .787
60ft: 2.351
1/4: 14.309
mph: 98.26

my first run was against a turbo civic (ran a 15.4), then the next two runs were against a prelude (ran mid 16's twice), and final run was against a rsx type s (ran a 14.7). also, i was running on cheap *** 15" tires called road huggers that were $45 a pop. so for the first time ever going to a track i think i did pretty good at 14.3!

only mods i have are 3" exhaust and up the boost. oh yah and a cone filter if you call that a mod but im pretty proud for my first time at the track, getting 2nd over all the imports, and there were a ton. supra turbo took first...integras running 17's, dual fart cannon civics running 19's...no joke! i was cracking up, seriously. i have no respect for hondas anymore after seeing how much of a joke they are, and wannabes. the turbo civic i raced, we talked afterward and the guy was hella cool i liked him, he said he had a greddy kit. i could only imagine how much a greddy kit cost him, and his best run at the end of the night was a 14.9. times should only get better once i get traction!! yay.

intrax springs with tociko s/r struts, im gonna get the full coil over kit from www.truckin.com for the escort. cant wait, then im gonna get some 16" rims, just hard for me to choose what set of rims i wanna go with. any of you have an idea of what tires i should go with if i get 16"s? i want them low profile, and i was wondering if i could go with 215's or not?

I am thinking about getting toyo's next. I was thinking about flaken's but they are kinda hard ..
Khumo's are nice , but when they wear .. they are kinda off with traction , but not by a lot ...

I think I may try toyo's mainly cause I won't be driving the car much ,.. so damage won't really be an option ...
ofcourse this will be with 17's at 215/40

-------------------
also you know they are not selling the full coilover. Just the sleve and spring , the universal thing ...

------------------
How much boost are you running

check out what a stock GTX does in an escort! Are you sure you have your engine setup right? Mysta pulled a 13.5 with his stock GTX in a heavier car than yours with only 3inch exhaust like you have on the stock GTX ECU. He did have slicks and you had chate tires, but would that make a difference as big as this? (im not saying this as criticism, I want to see you pull a 13.5! Do you have an upgraded fuel pump?)

BTW-Great job getting the GTX swapped! Once you get her dialed in she is really gonna turn some heads! your right about the civics, its sad. they spend mad $ on Greddy turbo kits and dont even hit consistant 14s!

The slicks made all the difference! A 1.9 60' time is moving pretty friggin good! Limp's 60' was a 2.3 (which suggests heavy wheel spin)... and that's a difference of freaking .4 seconds just in the first 60' of the race!!!! They trapped within 3-4 mph of each other, so he should be running in the 13s too.

He did a damn good job

i know mysta316, ive been to his house a few times. and his best run on street tires was a 13.9, hes running slicks with his better times now. hes more experienced at the track also, my r/t was a .787 or rather. he usually hits .4xx r/t.
