I got my @$$ cleaned by one at bradenton motorsports park (1/4-mile) by my friend who was granny shifting at 6000. So, since him and i and the rest of our crew will be the nice Dallas, Texas for our winter vacation with my Protege and his GS-R we'll settle the score and see what u really got. I'll just have to check the board when i'm there and find you and we can make a date maybe at a track or something. peace

with a 75 shot of nitrous id guess you would be in the mid to low 15's

people on this board respect honest stories whether they are won or lost, we all own proteges here and we all know basically what they are capable of

according to C&D, a STOCK 2001 mustang GT runs 14.7 1/4mile and you're not comming close unless you have a 100 shot and drag radials.

wait, wait, wait. did you just say you beat a WRX and a GSX. where's that bs flag again. are you sure these guys are trying to race you? With nitrous, I believe you beat an Si, but I don't think you have a chance with a WRX unless it was a debadged 2.5RS.

Go to the track, run the 1/4 mile, and post your time silp. Only then will anyone be able to swallow this.....stuff.
for all the haters out there

You must be running a 100 shot for those times.

Cause those are really low.

actually, im running a 75 shot and intake, everything else is completely stock, well and open exhaust from the rear axle back

I been spraying in 1st gear once i grip and hit about 3500 RPM , i been doing it forever and never had any nitrous caused problems

I'll be switching over to direct port soon, which will be cutting my times down a bit more i hope

How long do you spray for, the whole 1/4? I'm not too familiar with nitrous and how it's used.

i usually only spray untill about 90-95, from what i've heard the limit is about 15 seconds consistantly max

you dont wanna use it too long in the higher RPMs, itll make your motor run too lean and go kaboom.

I do not have a 1/4 mile local track here we have a 1000ft track.I run low 12's and have ran a 11.92 @89.35mph what is the estimated 1/4 mile time on this or is it impossible to say until i hit a 1/4 mile track.

Probably a low 14 sec run (14.2-.4). What kind of 60 foot times are you running?

That's not too bad. I'm assuming that's on street tires.

I have a few questions about your signature though.

You have a DX block with an LX head? Doesn't that give you a low compression ratio? I'd read on the solomiata sight that using SOHC pistons in a DOHC give you 8.2:1 compression.

And what does the "spider welded gears from an 89' civic putting positive track @383 ratio." mean? No diff? If so, how do you drive on the street?

I read on another forum that you have 161 whp. That's pretty good. And with the restriction of a VAF. I imagine half of Braden's (Turboge) NA gains were from removing that restriction (and using a speed-density system).

thanks

I only drive occasionally on the street just when I go honda hunting. My brother put performance pistons from a probe gt I believe the compression is 10.2:1 OR SOME WHERE around there. This car is very loud and runs very rough at low rpms but when you get in its *** it goes.Any suggestions about getting more of the power to the ground.I have bad wheel hops and shutters off the line.

motor mounts may help the wheel hop

and engine management is probably the cause of the shudder

is ur car all motor?

im not sure what corksport has for the first gens....
but harder mounts, like urethane ones

cause ur motor is floppin around in ur engine bay with that much power

turbowise, if i was u i would go for a smaller turbo
somthing that only pumps out small boost levels so u dont get much lag

and with the high compression u cant have too much boost anyways...
but ur gonna need good intercooling too

and get it tuned properly if its already chugging at low rpm
