1/4 Mile Track Runs

Friday night, I went to the local track where they had run all you can for 8$. I got there thinking I wouldn't race (never raced before). No more than 15 minutes passed and an MP3 rolls in. Since it was early and not crowded, I decided I would try to race and decided to run with the MP3. He had installed an MHP CAI. I was running with the Injen CAI, 18" rims, and My stereo in the trunk (he still had stock stereo). We both launched fairly well and I stayed close to him; however, the MP3 seems to have a little more power up in the higher RPM range. He ended up beating me, which I expected. They weren't giving out time slips, so I had to have someone watching. Well, I was only able to get two of my times from people. The times were 17.19 and 17.5. It was a fun experience and makes me want to do it again soon. If only I could lower the times more, and get some timeslips to see my reaction times and such.

That seems like a good run if you ask me, considering you had bigger rims on and your stereo.....

8$ all you can run!! Wow, that's a good deal... too bad no timeslips though

We've got a pretty cool deal on Friday nights here in Spokane. In order to try to decrease or eliminate street racing, one of the local tracks has decided to donate Friday nights to the local street freaks. They can run grudge matches or just for times until around midnight. I'm thinking of going here sometime in May.

The track I went to was Bradenton Motorsports Park. The event was called "Club 1320". How busy are the Test N Tune nights? Do you usually get plenty of runs in? I heard about the other car show and think I might go, but not race.

Where is Spokane? I live in Dunedin (Clearwater area) and had a long drive to Bradenton as it was. If it is closer, it might be something I would try instead.

Yeah i got beat by an mp3 by 2 1/2 car lenghts. I run 17.72 in the 1/4 mile with my auto. I only have intake, Exhaust and i used to run underdrive pulleys at the time. I have not yet raced a p5 but i am looking forward to it.

We have the same thing here in Houston at Houston Raceway Park....a TOP NOTCH, STATE OF THE ART drag strip, rated as the FASTEST in the country, not that it matters to our little cars..lol, but the TOP FUELERS love it here, all concrete, and at sea level, we had a national event here just last week. it was awsome......... I think its $10....but its a run what you brung....and there is everything from street cars to trailer cars there for testing and tuning.....its pretty cool.

On Test N Tune night i have gotten in Eight Runs once before i Left around 10pm. Its not that bad because they have a free bracket race for sport compact cars and winner gets $75 runner up $25. So of course if you get there early around 7pm you can get early runs in with everyone else and then when they start the bracket race they will give 2-3 qualifying runs while everyone else has to wait. Then the will start the Race so after each round they will let everyone else run for awhile then go to the next round of the race. I've made it to the Semi Finals and lost because i beat my posted time. I think i may go tonight.
