Mazda Announces Price of New Mazda RX-8,
Dealers Begin Taking Orders

Today Mazda Motor Corporation will begin taking orders for its all-new Mazda RX-8 sports car coinciding with its unveiling at the 2003 North American International Auto Show. Mazda and Mazda Anfini dealers throughout Japan will accept orders for the vehicle due to be launched this April.

The Mazda RX-8, powered by the all-new rotary engine, features sports car styling and excellent performance, while providing ample interior space for four adults. The vehicle delivers incomparable driving excitement.

RX-8 ordering begins in Japan, JDM prices released

prices for the JDM RX-8 has just been released and those prices are expected to be similar (in US currency) when it comes out here stateside.

Prices as follows:

RX-8 Type S 2750000¥
RX-8 Type E (auto tranny) 2750000¥
RX-8 base (auto or manual tranny) 24000000¥

orders for the car also begins at Japanese dealerships... so in otherwords, production should start soon!

Considering that there is the movie tie-in to X-Men 2, which is released in May, they had to have plans for a while. I think that it went from filming to post-production pretty quickly, but to have put a pre-production car in a film without knowing their release date would have been deadly.

you guys do realize Mazda is now offering pre-ordering for RX-8s for June delivery on their official website www.mazdarx-8.com

my setup would be the high power 6 speed with the sports package (DSC, fog lamps, HID), comes out to $28k including destination

*starts saving $$$

What's really cool is that there isn't a huge price difference between base model and fully loaded. Hopefully this will mean that a few years down the line, it won't be too hard to find a used model that is loaded

Man, I wish I was a millionairre so I can buy a new: Mazda3, Mazda6, Mazda RX-8, Miata, Mazdaspeed Protege, BMW M3 coupe, BMW M5........the list goes on....
