70 mile commute in the MSP costs $8.12 (assuming 25mpg and $2.90/gallon)
70 mile commute on the scoot costs $2.55 (assuming 70mpg and $2.55/gallon)
That's a difference of $5.57 per day.
Assuming an initial purchase price of $3,000 for a scooter and a 5 day work week it would take you 538 business days or right at 2 years to pay off in full your scooter.
That doesn't include what you'd save in insurance. Using MY personal insurance savings it looks like this:
$89/month for the MS6
vs
$12/month for the scooter.
for a savings of $77/month and the previous calculations for gas savings at $105.40/month mean you SAVE IN YOUR POCKET $183.40 just on gas and insurance.
Do we wanna start calculating savings on upkeep? Wanna price some tires?
