Has any body heard anything about this turbo kit. i really like the stainless steel look of all the piping which by the looks of it seems to be of very high quality. what is the difference between an internal and external wastegate in turbos and will it have any affect on performance. both the spool and begi kits use garret t3 turbos but this one uses a turbonetics t3 turbo. can anyone comment on the reliability and performance of the turbonetics turbo.

I don't know about this kit. It looks like that there are a lot of welds on the pipes and they look like exhaust piping put together. Like makeshift mandrel bends. I don't think it looks like quality work. I mean the idea is great but I think for the cost... I guess you get what you pay for. I don't think I have too much confidence in the longevity of the kit. Just my opinion.

i've been running a dc sports stainless steel header on my crx for years with no problems...they last a long time (about as long as a cast iron header)...they also look better and weigh less

look at the kit that was built for a 99 protege 1.6 liter using the same type of stainless steel header...this car has been running for years with this setup and gets 160whp

That's great. To me it just didn't look like strong welds or quality material. I could be wrong.

i understand your point completely...for instance lets take a pacesetter stainless steel header (they do make them) and a dc sports stainless steel header...both may look similar but the dc sports header is much better built as its design is superior, its welds much stronger leading to a much higher overall quality even though they may use the same exact metal

andy's kit is similar to this analogy as he has been welding and fabricating stainless steel for well over a decade and his father (who is one of the best in his area) has taught him well [i guess the force is with him]...since i've been modifying my cars for over a decade i have had the chance to inspect poorly built parts and those that are well made...as such i would have never choose his kit (i did visit his shop and work at several examples of his work...for instance he made a fuel injection manifold for this turbo slant six dodge dart)

i guess not all stainless steel parts are created equally

Okay dude. I dont know whos *** your trying to blow smoke up, but this is Daves car and the kit is a ONE OF A KIND and has not been on there for years. Maybe 1 year at best.

Yes! dave's turbo setup is just over a year old. But if you know dave and the way he races his car you will see that my header is a race quality one. I use 321 stainless steel and 347 welding rod and everything is tig welded. Its not the amount of weld on a header that causes it to crack. Its the heat expansion of the header that does that. When building the header I make it so the header can expan and thus it will not crack.
