N2O question..

i know that everyone asks for a safe n2o setup and everyone says n2o isn't safe. but i'm looking for a real small shot and also a complete kit. this is more or less for show but i think it'd be stupid to just setup a purge.. i do plan on using it, just not all the damn time.

now on to my question. does anyone know of a safe kit that is good quality and isn't gonna toast my engine on periodic use. money isn't an issue, i'll pay for quality.

thanks.

nx

i have heard that the NX kit is one of the best. i belives that as long as you dont get a dry kit you should be ok. there are some people on this board that have blown their engines with dry kits. i guess our engines just dont handle them well.

I think the wet kit part # you need is 20923 or 20293 import wet EFI kit. I would stick with a 50 shot like alot of people do. I run a 90 shot but thats only because I have another engine in my garage........Duncan

I don't know if they are available for our cars but i was checking out the venom Hi-Tech Kit. The N20 is injected only after a certain rpm and throttle percentage are met.(You input these factors via a palm pilot that comes with the kit) This sounds pretty safe to me.

I wouldn't suggest a dry kit..Many People have had problems w/ the protege's ability to supply fuel properly..But to each their own!!

acidbbg, how much performance boost do you get with 50 shot? how fast would you guess your 1/4 time is?

Well..Lets just say..if i shoot in 1st gear..I just spin and spin tires..Check the video forum..I posted a video of me shooting in 1st gear racing a spec-v!

If i shoot in 2nd gear..I get a nice chirp..and get throw back into my seat!!

I would say...That i am easly in the 15's...and w/ this new mp3 ecu mod and a header in a couple of months..I would say i am getting very close to 14's!!

isn't the mp3 ecu bad to use w/ no2 cause of the advanced timing?

Yes advanced timing is bad w/ nitrous..But I think if i add enough fuel to the mixture i shall be fine..It's only a 50shot!

Well like bruce above me I would also like to lookinto this. I had never considered anything except straight N/A or turbo before this and I am still considering turbo but byt he time I get the cash together for the HiBoost kit I want I will be ready to trade in the the rx8 I want. So this may be a better alternative. So here are my questions if anyone feels like answering them. Some may have been answered before and I only ask no flaming, I dont care if you dont wanna answer my questions but just dont reply then.

ok...
What companies make kits for our cars?
NX, ZEX, NOS, ???

What is the avergae cost of a decent wet system, with nothing near a big shot?

What size shots can you adjust your kit to? Anything? or are there certain numbers you can only use. I would like to run anywhere from a 25-50shot.

Now HiBoost claims because of its redone fueal/air mapping that it does not change the vitality of the engine throughout its life, is this the same with a SMALL nos shot? or even if it is safe now will it deteriorate/damage the engine over the long run?(long run being 3 yrs at most.)

If anyone can/will answer these 4 or 5 questions for me I greatly appreciate it.
