Mazda Speed Turbo

I'm interested in hearing your opinions on fitting a mazdaspeed protege's turbo onto a protege 5. Is it worth it / too difficult / to expensive / etc.

I thought you couldn't get the mazdaspeed turbo, or any of the engine components from the mazdaspeed....

i think the only part you can't order from mazdaspeed is the turbo, i thought everything else was cool, well accept the rest of the turbo system(tiny IC, etc)

I think it would be more worthwhile trying to go for the BEGI, or the flyin' miata turbo, and they put out better power from what i hear.... I don't knwo about the power made form the spool turbos, but that might be a good choice too, also theres a company here in cambridge that makes a turbo for the 2.0L FS-DEs but i don't know much about that either....

If your thinking of turbo charging, then i think the best bet would be with BEGI or Flyin' Miata turbos, instead of the mazdaspeed. If your thinking of trying to make a mazdaspeed replicate, then i'd say forget it, because the mazdaspeed has alot more changes to it than just the turbo, like the LSD, bigger driveshafts and etc. etc.
IMO it would be easier just trading in for the mazdaspeed... but this is all my opinon, and it is your car, so you can take which route you feel comfortable with taking yourself..

and plus, it looks like your trying to make a mazdaspeed P5, because you want to fit the mazdaspeed turbo onto your P5, but i dunno how you would get the turbo from mazdaspeed, otherwise its the same engine and everything, so it can be easily done

I wasn't trying to make a 5 door mazdaspeed by far. Actually, filadodo is my wife, and i'm kind of trying to do something w/ her car. I couldn't find manufacturers that had kits for the protege (it's about as hard as finding stuff for my celi), so i figured the speed turbo would be the way to go. I see some of you are listing manufacturers that i've never heard of. Do you think you could list some web addresses or contact info of some sort?
Thanks
