The Miata instructions are online on the Flyin' Miata site - the System 4.2 is the closest to the Protegé system, but the oil return is different along with a few other details. The Protege is an easier install - this is basically to give you an idea of what the instructions are like.

Flyin' Miata turbo installation instructions

The first turbo install I did was at home with a couple of friends helping out. No exotic tools were required.

With my prelude, having to cut the chassis for the IC piping and the oil return bung on the pan were the biggest deals, and of course fuel setup with the mf2, which was later replaced with a standalone with a good baseline, that was an easy install. The FMU should be pretty easy to do as well.

What kind of chassis cutting is required with the kit, any?

Thanks.

No plans for the 1.6, sorry. Grab a 323 GTX manifold for that.

No chassis cutting is required - yikes! There's some trimming of the nose piece, but it's non-structrural plastic.

It should work fine on an auto tranny car unless there's something really unusual about the autos. The stock exhaust routing is maintained from the first cat on, staying away from the gearbox. There may be some slight differences in how the oil supply is obtained, but that's all I can think of.

You know that the 1.6 he is referring to is from a DX/LX protege which has nothing near the same manifold as a B6 GTX motor.

Then it's probably not good advice I'm not up to speed on all the Protege variants.
