your new sony head unit will come in one of two configurations....
either
1. it will come with a harness that plugs into the head unit itself. OR
2. the head unit will just have wires coming out of the back of it.
either way...what you do is get a harness for your car. you can get them at LOTS of audio places....even wal-mart. Wal-mart is the national distributor for Scosche. the scosche part number is MA-03. they most likely won't have it in stock...but they will special order it for you if all you have is a wal-mart around. the METRA part number is 70-7903.
then you match the wiring from the harness that comes with the Head Unit to the harness you get that matches your cars harness and connect them together...NOW you have a harness that is either
1. a harness that both plugs into the back of your deck AND into the stock harness of the car....OR
2. you have a harness connected to the back of your deck that plugs into the harness of your car...
either way...you are set to install the head unit.
