Undercar Neons

I was wondering about undercar Neon lights. How much do they cost? Are they easy to install? Are they illegal? How do you turn them off and on?

Ummm.. I think you turn them on and off by a switch?

They are illegal to a extent. You cannot DRIVE with them on. Your car, can, however be parked and have them on, but driving with them on, is a no no.. at least here in BC it is...

neons are not a "rice" thing.....I have seen plenty of hot rods with them as well. I am sick of some people completely shunning other peoples opinion, especially a moderator at that. Your moderator status should be revoked for bullshit like that. Grow up and show some respenct for others and their opinions. Put some neons on your car just to **** off "90&00 Protege".....I think I may....

OK,How about ending the flame war before it begins?
Next can anyone answer the original question as asked by Zerostatic?I can't,and I was wondering the same thing or something along that lines anyway.
I was thinking of Blacklight or purple streetglow under my Black P5.
The laws around here(SW ontario,Canada)for the majority of places is;no red or blue(and occasionaly no green)or else Not at all(Canada the second largest police state in the world!!!).

When I lived in CA there was no red and blue allowed for lights or bug deflectors as they were reserved for emergency vehicles.

For 90 & 00 its not a matter of what i liket, but a matter of someones feelings and thought. There is no reason to blatently be an *** when someone asks a valid question that has not been answered. When he asks for a "type R" emblem then you can "rice it at 'em" but c'mon. You can tone down my post all you want, I don't care to be quite honest. I have been very disapointed with some of this boards moderators....."please use the search function".....that will get members to not return. There are nearly 900 members and I would bet that less then 1/10 of those post once a month. How would you feel if you just got a new car and found this huge forum and posted a question and your only reply was "use the search function"? I would not come back.....and I may not.....

Protege Menace

If we didn't re-discuss the same topics every now and then, then we would run out of things to talk about. I know excessive repeating is annoying but seeing the same topic every week or two doesn't bother me.

But still, if someone likes neons, and you don't, you don't have to call his taste wrong, as it isn't. The guy was asking info about underbody neons, so calling him 'rice' is not the answer, I don't think. The actual word 'rice' is used way too often on these boards these days anyways, please use something else like beans or olives, or whatever else you wish. Can you imagine someone actually doing a search on this forum for the word 'rice' ....
In any case, you turn it on/off with a switch, the underbody neon kit, and you could also get this thing that makes it dance to the beat of the music in your car. They go for about 200$ US I think, but you can always find it much cheaper on e-bay, just type in 'street glow' or something like that.
They shouldn't be hard to install at all, and as for the law, I think that you're only allowed to have them on while parked. I'd go for the green colour too, or yellow as cops might not like the use of red or blue colour. They could slap you with a ticket of 'impersonating emergency vehicles' because of the colour.

Cheers

To all Protege Owners, Moderators, Enthusiast, and Newbies !Cant we all just get along ! This is supposed to be a place to talk about our cool cars etc etc etc , Azrakain fight for your rights ! Just kidding LOL, Everyone has there own opinions and they have to be respected ... No one threw any harsh comments calling anyone a idiot or anything, someone might think for example, that getting a car and adding 50 gauages on the interior might make them look cool, and come on the fourms and say they look so cool, numerous other people might not think so but its what you like on your car. People are here to just inform you on how they feel is "Rice" Or not LOL, of course i get a good laugh outta seeing this stuff

Everyone has there own opinions, you must respect that

Thats my 1000 cents .................
I am stuck at work doing pointless over time so you know iam bored

ok.....To all new people on the Forum....please read the FAQ's before your first post and use the search before you post a question. I will agree that the FAQ's are awesome. I personnaly read every word up there before my first post as I was so exstatic to learn more things about my car.

My only point is lets not try to put peoples thoughts and opinions down based on your opinions....this should be put in the rules to not start a posting war as it does cost the boards owner.....

oh my god! you guys are all trippin 4 real. I understand the moderators viewpoint, but at the same time i understand everybody elses point as well. I believe the original question was how do you turn the neons on and off, how much are they, and what color should i get? or something. Instead of saying "rice...rice... and more rice" you could have just not answered, or if you did answer just put:

1. You can make a on/off switch
2. About $200
3. Whatever color yout local law allows.

That took me less that 20 seconds to type. that wasnt that hard. But instead you pretty much called him a ricer and got this whole big argument started.
As for the everybody else. As you can see, some of the people can be a little bitchy in here. So please use "search" b4 asking some questions. It will save a lot of people time as well as prevent chaos like this.

I agree, they are totally RICE RICE RICE....trust me, most cars out here that have 300hp worth of Vinyl on them, a loud rice pipe on the back and neons think they are the fast and the f*cking Furious...so yes, I would consider that Rice....if it is on a hot rod, that is a different story cause those are usually old people that don't know any better...oh, and moderator, I think that comment should have earned you Moderator of the Forum award

just my opinion....Neons ARE Rice
