Taking off side molding (1rst GEN)

It's finally getting warm and I'm about to go to my favorite mechanic to get all the dings and scratches touched up
He asked me if I wanted to paint my sidemolding or just take it off and paint the bumpers... hmmmmmmm I don't see I I would need the molding but I was curious on your thoughts

By the way I see alot of 323's w/o them so I thought why not!
