Taillight covers

Does anybody make taillight covers for the protege? I saw some on a prelude and they were painted to match the car and had circle cut outs in them. They kinda look like altezzas but all the chrome part would be painted the same color as your car.

I hope you know what I am talking about.

have you seen the carbon version of altezza style light for our
pro's. I was debating between the 2 but I like how the chrome
looked against the silver. But thats my taste.

Just my thoughts.

I haven't seen any altezzas on a silver car. I will look into that. Those cost more than covers do though. And I don't care too much for altezzas on any of the vehicles I have seen them on.

This was just an idea I had. The next thing I am going to do to my car is have it tinted and I am not even doing that until the spring. So I have some time to think about it.

Check these out

Here, take a look in my photoalbum and you'll see a set of custom tailights similar to what you are talking about. If you are interested in how to do these just let me know and I will inform you. Here's the link:

personally i don't really like altezzas, yet IMO, the carbon fiber ones would look nicer. plus not as many people have carbon fiber altezzas compared to chrome altezzas.

**no offense foxymazda. i know the whole altezza thing is a touchy subject to you**

Cruzer: I looked at pics of your car at www.onlineshowoff.com and the altezza lights look a lot better than I expected. What brand are they? I also stole your pic.

If I had the kind of cover on the stock tails that I am looking for I am not sure it would look that good. The circles that would be showing probably wouldn't be arranged as nicely as they are in the pic above. It depends on where the lightbulbs are and I haven't looked yet. Maybe I will get the altezzas and then get a cover for them so they look something like this (the color isnt perfect but you get the idea):

4drmiata: What you did would work if they made that taillight tint in sunlight silver metallic and I don't like how the red is covered because it makes it harder to see the brake lights during the day.

Thanks for all the replys.

Ok, to answer your question BL_Protege, yes I used the nite shades tint spray, no I don't get pulled over for them (and I live in central NJ too), and I don't know about inspection yet cuz I'm not due until 2004. However, I do have my stock tailights that I can always pop back in for inspection. And to answer your question Dermen, I think there is a silver tint available. I'm not 100% sure but I do know that they make yellow, red, black, and blue tint sprays so shop around. I'll check out some of my sites too. If I come across it I will post a link.

Dermen, well here is the link where I purchased my tails from :
http://www.altezzalighting.com/potege.htm
I guess you can say its their brand. The picture on the web
shows the normal ones you see but as you can see from my
pics they aren't them. And they aren't that expensive as to
other places I have looked.

Sidenote: I always wondered how my car would look like
with those magnetic bra's.. Now I know I don't like how they
look. Unless I paint them to match the car but then that
sorta defeats the purpose. Might as well paint the whole
front end. Oh well...

and to foxy,, I agree silver pros with chrome tails look really
good together, IMHO.

Have a good one.
