Sub/Amp Help

I was just wondering if I got ripped off or I have a bad Amp?

I have a sony HU ... with 4 sony 6'5 explode speakers. I also have a Sony Explode Sub 10'..... I have a cheap Boss amp . It used to pump some jensins i have and i think i blew them out. The sony sub i think is 800 watt and the amp is 400. Little bass comes out of it but im thinkin since sony is a better name then Jensin, it would be better ?

altho many would disagree with me, the sony subs are really not that bad, so yes, i'd have to say they are better than jensen. however, i don't know why you're only getting a little bass from your sub. how did you wire it? b4 swapping the amp, check and recheck everything.

then swap the amp. seems you like sony stuff, so i'd say go with the xplod amps. they are pretty much on the money and don't overrate nor underrate their amps. my brother is running the 5ch xplod amp and it's just fine.

Check to make sure that you didn't turn on the high pass filter on the amp. If you did, all the bass information will be eliminated from the sub amp. Just make sure that you installed everything properly, especially the RCA's. Although the BOSS amp wouldn't be my first choice in amps, there are other possiblities that can cause your problem. You may also want to check your woofers by gently pressing on the center of the cone. If it feels scratchy, you've probably blown the voice coil. If that's the case, you need to replace the subs.
