My amp is doing almost the same thing except im blowing the fuse on the amp itsself once I turn up the volume past a certain point. At first I was going into protect mode, now the fuse keeps blowing. It had a 40 to start with then I put in a 30, and it keeps blowing the 30's. Do I have bad subs too or is it something else?

If your amplifier came with a 40amp fuse, why did you replace it with something smaller??

Had a **** load of 30amp's and no 40's. Besides that doesn't answer my question..

Yes it does answer your question.. atleast the one about you keep popping fuses. Your amp draws a certain amount of current, and that fuse is there to protect the amp from a surge in current. If you put a smaller size fuse, it will keep popping.

I already know a 30 will blow faster than a 40, Im just trying to figure out what caused the initial blowing of the fuse when I had a 40. Incorrect wiring, bad sub, bad ground, etc..

If the amp on the amp blows there are only 3 posibilities:

1. Sub is smoked. Meter it and make sure it is the correct impedance.

2.The wires going to the subs are touching each other and shorting out.

3. The ouput stage of the amp is smoked.

If the fuse on the amp is constantly poping then the power wire is probably touching a ground point somewhere or the amp is toasted.

Where did you ground the amp and did you scrape the paint.
